Markington is in the Heart of the UK with London only 230miles south and Edinburgh 230 miles north.  The East Coast of Yorkshire (Scarborough & Whitby) only 1hr 45min and to the West Coast (Blackpool) only 1hr 45mins.

We are a small and friendly Dales village with two Pubs, also supporting a Village Shop and Post Office supplying nearly all of your basic needs, with visiting butchers, greengrocer and we still have a door to door Milkman.


Markington is home to The Wilberforce Family famous for slave reform.

And to the Bartle Family with their equestrian achievements in The Olympic Games since 1984 to 2012 at The Yorkshire Riding Centre where you can still learn to ride under expert supervision.
